FAQ

Common Questions
What will happen during my consult?

The physician or provider will listen to understand the symptoms and problems you have been experiencing. They will then do a detailed neurological exam and review any imaging studies that you may have already performed (X-ray, CT, or MRI). We will then discuss treatment options that are best suited for you. This may or may not involve surgery. Family members are always welcome for the visit.

What treatment may be recommended?

It is possible that surgical treatment may be suggested at the initial visit, but it is common that other treatment may serve as an alternative. This can include physical therapy or minimally invasive treatments to treat pain and other symptoms. It is also very common for the neurosurgeon to request additional studies to confirm the most accurate diagnosis.

Where would surgery be performed at?

We perform all our surgical procedures at the Anne Arundel Medical Center and the Riva Road Surgery Center
